Genesis
12:1 Now the "I AM" had said unto Abram, Get theeout of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father'shouse, unto a land that I will show thee:
12:2 And I will make from thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,and make thy (seed's) NAME "Great"; and thou shalt be a blessing:
12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him thatcurseth thee: and in thee (and thy seed) shall all families of theearth be blessed.
13:16 And I will make thy seed as "the dustof the earth"*: so that if a man cannumber the dust of the earth, [then] shall thy seed also benumbered.
*Daniel 12:2 Andmany of them that sleep in "the dust of the earth" shall awake (from their spiritualslumber), some to Everlasting Life, and some to shame [and]everlasting contempt...
15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now towardheaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and hesaid unto him, So shall thy seed be.
15:6 And he believed the "I AM"; and He counted it to him forrighteousness.
Ishmael | |
16:1 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children:and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name [was] Hagar.
16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the "I AM" hathrestrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it maybe that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to thevoice of Sarai.
16:3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, afterAbram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to herhusband Abram to be his wife.
16:4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she sawthat she had conceived, her mistress [Sarai] was despised in hereyes.
16:5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong [be] upon thee: I have givenmy maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, Iwas despised in her eyes: the "I AM" judge between me and thee.
16:6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid [is] in thy hand; doto her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, shefled from her face.
16:7 And the angel of the "I AM" found her by a fountain of water inthe wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
16:8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and wherewilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistressSarai.
16:9 And the angel of the "I AM" said unto her, Return to thymistress, and submit thyself under her hands.
16:10 And the angel of the "I AM" said unto her, I will multiply thyseed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
16:11 And the angel of the "I AM" said unto her, Behold, thou [art]with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his nameIshmael (God Hears); because the "I AM"hath heard thy affliction.
16:12 And he will be a wild man; his hand [will be] against everyman, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell to the Eastof all his brethren.
16:15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name,which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
16:16 And Abram [was] fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bareIshmael to Abram.
17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the "I AM"appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I [am] the Almighty God; walkbefore me, and be thou perfect.
17:2 And I will make My Covenantbetween Me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
17:3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
17:4 As for Me, behold, My Covenant [is] with thee, and thou shalt bea father of many nations.
17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy nameshall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nationsof thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
17:7 And I will establish My Covenant between me and thee and thyseed after thee in their generations for an EverlastingCovenant, to be a God unto thee,and to thy seed after thee.
17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the landwherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for aneverlasting possession; and I will be their God.
17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep My Covenanttherefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
17:15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shaltnot call her name Sarai, but Sarah [shall] her name [be].
17:16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, Iwill bless her, and she shall be [a mother] of nations; kings ofpeople shall be of her.
17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in hisheart, Shall [a child] be born unto him that is an hundred years old?and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
17:18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmaelmight live before thee!
17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; andthou shalt call his name Isaac (Laughter): and I will establish MyCovenant with him for an EverlastingCovenant, [and] with his seed afterhim.
18:18 Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and allthe nations of the earth shall be blessed in him.
18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and hishousehold after him, and they shall keep The Way of the "I AM", to dojustice and judgment; that the "I AM" may bring upon Abraham thatwhich He hath spoken of him.
21:12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sightbecause of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarahhath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called [(I)saac'ssons - Saxons].
22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did temptAbraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, [here] I[am].
22:2 And He said, Take now thy son, thine only [son] Isaac, whom thoulovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there fora burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell theeof...
22:9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; andAbraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and boundIsaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
22:10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife toslay his son.
22:11 And the angel of the "I AM" called unto him out of heaven, andsaid, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here [am] I.
22:12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thouany thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thouhast not withheld thy son, thine only [son] from Me.
22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind[him] a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went andtook the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of hisson.
22:14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh(The"I AM" Will Provide): as it is said [to] this day, In the mount of the "I AM"it shall be seen.
22:15 And the angel of the "I AM" called unto Abraham out of heaventhe second time,
22:16 And said, By Myself have I sworn, saith the "I AM", for becausethou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only[son]:
22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I willmultiply thy seed as "the stars of theheaven", and as the sand which [is] uponthe sea shore; and thy descendants shall possess the (sea) gates oftheir enemies;
22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;because thou hast obeyed Myvoice.
25:5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
25:19 And these [are] the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son:Abraham begat Isaac:
25:20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, thedaughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban theSyrian.
25:21 And Isaac intreated the "I AM" for his wife, because she [was]barren: and the "I AM" was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wifeconceived.
25:22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said,If [it be] so, why [am] I thus? And she went to enquire of the "IAM".
The Birth of Esau andJacob 25:23 And the "I AM" said unto her, Two nations[are] in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated fromthy bowels; and [the one] people shall be stronger than [the other]people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
25:24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold,[there were] twins in her womb.
25:25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; andthey called his name Esau (Hairy).
25:26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold onEsau's heel; and his name was called Jacob (The Supplanter): and Isaac(Laughter) [was]threescore years old when she bare them.
25:27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of thefield; and Jacob [was] a plain man, dwelling in tents.
25:28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of [his] venison: butRebekah loved Jacob.
25:29 And Jacob sod pottage (soup): and Esau came from the field, andhe [was] faint:
25:30 And Esausaid to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red [pottage];for I [am] faint: therefore was his name called Edom (red soup).
25:31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I [am] at the point to die: and whatprofit shall this birthright do to me?
25:33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him:and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
25:34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he dideat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised[his] birthright.
2 Esdras 6:8 And He said untome, From Abraham unto Isaac, when Jacob and Esau were born of him,Jacob's hand held first the heel of Esau.
6:9 For Esau(Edom) is the end of the world, and Jacob (Israel) is the beginningof it that followeth.
6:10 Thehand of Man(Christ) isbetween the heel and the hand: other question, Esdras, ask thounot.
26:1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine thatwas in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of thePhilistines unto Gerar.
26:2 And the "I AM" appeared unto him, and said, Go not down intoEgypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
26:3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will blessthee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all thesecountries, and I will perform the Oath which I sware unto Abraham thyfather;
26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as "the stars of heaven", and willgive unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all thenations of the earth be blessed;
26:5 Becausethat Abraham obeyed My voice, and keptMy charge, My Commandments, My Statutes, and My Laws.
26:6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:
27:1 And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes weredim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, andsaid unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, [here am] I.
27:2 And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of mydeath:
27:3 Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thybow, and go out to the field, and take me [some] venison;
27:4 And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring [it] to me,that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.
27:5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. And Esauwent to the field to hunt [for] venison, [and] to bring [it].
27:6 And Rebekah spoke unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heardthy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,
27:7 Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, andbless thee before the "I AM" before my death.
27:8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which Icommand thee.
27:9 Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids ofthe goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such ashe loveth:
27:10 And thou shalt bring [it] to thy father, that he may eat, andthat he may bless thee before his death.
27:11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother[is] a hairy man, and I [am] a smooth man:
27:12 My father perhaps will feel me, and I shall seem to him as adeceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.
27:13 And his mother said unto him, Upon me [be] thy curse, my son:only obey my voice, and go fetch me [them].
27:14 And he went, and fetched, and brought [them] to his mother: andhis mother made savoury meat, such as his father loved.
27:15 And Rebekah took goodly clothing of her eldest son Esau, which[were] with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her youngerson:
27:16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands,and upon the smooth of his neck:
27:17 And she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she hadprepared, into the hand of her son Jacob (the "Supplanter" - in Hebrew).
27:18 And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said,Here [am] I; who [art] thou, my son?
27:19 And Jacob said unto his father, I [am] Esau thy firstborn; Ihave done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit andeat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.
27:20 And Isaac said unto his son, How [is it] that thou hast found[it] so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the "I AM" thy Godbrought [it] to me.
27:21 And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I mayfeel thee, my son, whether thou [be] my very son Esau or not.
27:22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, andsaid, The voice [is] Jacob's voice, but the hands [are] the hands ofEsau.
27:23 And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as hisbrother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.
27:24 And he said, [Art] thou my very son Esau? And he said, I[am].
27:25 And he said, Bring [it] near to me, and I will eat of my son'svenison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought [it] near tohim, and he did eat: and he brought him wine, and he drank.
27:26 And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me,my son.
27:27 And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell ofhis clothing, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son[is] as the smell of a field which the "I AM" hath blessed:
27:28 Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatnessof the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
27:29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lordover thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed[be] every one that curseth thee, and blessed [be] he that blesseththee.
27:30 And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end ofblessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presenceof Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from hishunting.
27:31 And he also had made savoury meat, and brought it unto hisfather, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of hisson's venison, that thy soul may bless me.
27:32 And Isaac his father said unto him, Who [art] thou? And hesaid, I [am] thy son, thy firstborn Esau.
27:33 And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where [is]he that hath taken venison, and brought [it] me, and I have eaten ofall before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, [and] he shall beblessed.
27:34 And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with agreat and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me,[even] me also, O my father.
27:35 And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath takenaway thy blessing.
27:36 And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob (meaning 'The Supplanter' in Hebrew)? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took awaymy birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. Andhe said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?
27:37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made himthy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; andwith corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now untothee, my son?
27:38 And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, myfather? bless me, [even] me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up hisvoice, and wept.
27:39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thydwelling shall be away from the fatness of the earth, and of the dewof heaven from above;
27:40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother;and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, thatthou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
27:41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith hisfather blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourningfor my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
28:1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, andsaid unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters ofCanaan.
28:2 Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother'sfather; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Labanthy mother's brother.
28:3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, andmultiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;
28:4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seedwith thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art astranger, which God gave unto Abraham.
28:5 And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padanaram unto Laban,son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau'smother.
28:10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and wenttoward Haran.
28:11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there allnight, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of thatplace, and put [them for] his pillows, and lay down in that place tosleep.
28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, andthe top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of Godascending and descending on it.
28:13 And, behold, the "I AM" stood above it, and said, I [am] the "IAM" God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereonthou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
28:14 And thy seed shall be as "the dust ofthe earth", and thou shalt spread abroadto the West (U.S.A.), and to the East (Australasia), and to the North (Canada), and to the South (Africa): and in thee and in thy seedshall all the families of the earth be blessed.
28:15 And, behold, I [am] with thee, and will keep thee in all[places] where thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land;for I will not leave thee, until I have done [that] which I havespoken to thee of.
28:16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the "IAM" is in this place; and I knew [it] not.
28:17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful [is] this place! this[is] none other but the house ofGod, and this [is] the gate of heaven.
28:18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took thestone that hehad put [for] his pillows, and set it up [for] a pillar, and pouredoil upon the top of it.
28:19 And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of thatcity [was called] Luz at the first.
28:20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and willkeep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, andclothing to put on,
28:21 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shallthe "I AM" be my God:
28:22 And this stone, which I have set[for] a pillar, shall be God's house (Beth-el): and of all that Thou shalt give me I will surely give thetenth unto Thee.
